About

Elizabeth Schmermund is a scholar, teacher, and writer. She received her Phd in Comparative Literature from Stony Brook University in 2022 and currently works at SUNY Old Westbury as a lecturer in the department of English. She lives on Long Island with her husband, three kids, and Australian Shepherd.

Elizabeth has published over a dozen educational books, as well as poetry and essays in a wide range of venues, including Long Island Wins, The Independent, Months and Days, Gyroscope Review, Kitchen Table Quarterly, Mantis, and Topical Poetry. She is also faculty advisor for the student publications Harmonia and Discordia at SUNY Old Westbury. 

Her first poetry chapbook is forthcoming from Finishing Line Press.
